APS Editing

Writing Made Easier!

APS operates an Academic Editing program to support HDR students with completing their thesis. The aim of the program is to make editing affordable and accessible to all students.

If you need help with your thesis or manuscript, our Academic Editors are here to help! We are currently accepting submissions for 2023.

Casual writing sessions — Regular, scheduled, optionally sociable writing sessions aimed at reducing isolation among research students and assisting you in overcoming procrastination. Postgraduate and HDR students at UQ can use these sessions to write well and write together, providing moral support and motivations. We write together in quiet each week at the same time. It’ll be a powerful support for building our writing disciplines.

Campus Careers Expo

In 2022 we held the first Careers Expo since pre-pandemic with over 600 students and 60 companies in attendance. Not only was this one of the last on campus events in years, it was entirely student organised and volunteer run!

Seminars and Workshops

The APS has, in the past, run seminars that are open to all postgraduate students. Amongst the topics covered by these seminars were "How to Write Your Thesis" and "Accessing Research Funds". As well as running these seminars, we also sponsor talks from Student Organisations and the Brisbane Dialogues. Let us know if you have any requests.
