APS Editing

Writing Made Easier!

APS Editing started in 2022 with the aim of the program is to make editing affordable and accessible to all students. The program initially was opened to HABS students, then SCI and MED; as of January 2023 the program will be open to all HDRs across UQ's faculties and institutes. This program is funded by your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).

How does it work?

1. Simply complete the online editing submission form below and attach your Word document. You may request editing for up to 6000 words once per research quarter (RQ).

Please note, submissions are edited in order of receipt; if you require your work back by a particular deadline, please include that on a coversheet. Depending on their workload, the editors may decline submissions with imminent deadlines.

2. Once complete, the editor will email you a track-changed version of your paper.

You are responsible for reviewing these changes and comments, and incorporating them into the work.

3. Please familiarise yourself with UQ's guidance, policies and procedures relating to student integrity and misconduct before submission.

Submission requirements

Page size: A4
Maximum Word Count: 6,000
Fonts: 12 point Times New Roman or Calibri
Line spacing: 1.5 or double spaced
Page margins: 2.3cm
Spell checked prior to submission
Pages are numbered
Include your name and student number in the cover sheet
All submissions must be directly a product of your study or research at UQ.
Work must not be submitted at last minute (minimum one week turnaround required)
